Is this where faith finds its home? Right before your eyes stands the Neuapostolische Kirche, a beacon of faith for over a century in Stralsund. The Neuapostolische Kirche might seem unassuming, but its story is deeply intertwined with the city’s own. This wasn’t the first home of the congregation. For years, they held services wherever they could – schools, halls, even workshops. Imagine their joy when in 1988, after years under the watchful eyes of the GDR, this very building was dedicated. Think of it – bricks laid, decorations added, all through the tireless efforts of the community, especially Gunthard Glasow, their leader. Every baptism, wedding, and song resonated with that dedication. Time, however, waits for no building. By 2024, the church, though full of memories, needed modern touches. A grand renovation began. For months, the congregation worshipped elsewhere, their thoughts never far from their beloved Neuapostolische Kirche. New wiring, pipes, even a lift, breathed fresh life into the building. A new organ, its pipes gleaming, promised to fill the space with glorious music once more. Today, the Neuapostolische Kirche stands renewed, a testament to faith and community, ready to serve Stralsund for another century.
