Driven by a passion for art, Dr. Fritz Nagel founded Nagel Auktionen in Stuttgart in 1922. It started as a small Kunst und Auktionshaus. Nagel’s vision was to create a space where art and history converged.

Nagel Auktionen quickly became a respected name. It was known for its expertise and integrity. Dr. Nagel’s dedication shaped the company’s early success. His keen eye for quality attracted collectors.

In 1965, Gert K. Nagel, Dr. Nagel’s son, took over. He continued his father’s legacy. Gert expanded the auction house’s reach. He adapted to changing markets.

1990 marked a turning point. Robin Ph. Straub became the owner of Nagel Auktionen. Straub brought fresh energy to the business. His innovative approach propelled growth.

The year 2003 was significant. Nagel Auktionen opened its new headquarters on Neckarstrasse. This location provided a modern space. It allowed for larger auctions and exhibitions.

Uwe Jourdan became CEO in 2005. He also served as an auctioneer. His leadership strengthened Nagel Auktionen’s position in the art world. In 2017, Philipp Freiherr von Hutten took over as CEO. He continued the tradition of excellence. In 2020, Uwe Jourdan returned as CEO.
