Also known as Unicorn islet. It’s the largest of My Tho’s four islands. Over 6000 people live here. Many work in agriculture. Tourism is flourishing. Locals offer homestays and pubs serving local food. They sell tropical fruits from their orchards.

My Tho offers more than just islands. The Vinh Trang Pagoda is a must-see. Built in 1849 it’s the largest Buddhist pagoda in Tien Giang Province. Its architecture blends Chinese Vietnamese Khmer and European styles. Three massive Buddha statues stand in the yard. The pagoda features five buildings two ornamental ones and 178 pillars with intricate wood carvings.

The flavors of My Tho are just as diverse. Try the My Tho noodles a traditional rice noodle soup. It’s been popular since the 1960s. The noodles are made from a special local rice variety. Toppings include minced garlic ground pork quail eggs shrimp and lime juice. Don’t miss the fresh fruit. The Mekong Delta is known for its mangoes and star apples.
