Founded in August 2011, the Museum of National Taipei University of Education, or MoNTUE as it’s fondly called, holds a special place in the heart of Taipei’s art scene. The museum’s name, with its unique ‘MoNTUE’ acronym combining “Monday” and “Tuesday,” reflects the passage of time and the institution’s century-long journey. Located within the National Taipei University of Education, MoNTUE embodies a blend of heritage and innovation. The museum is known for its spectacular exhibitions, one of the most noteworthy being ‘UNIVERSITAS.’ This exhibition, a collaborative effort with the University Museum Association of Kyoto, takes visitors on an illuminating journey through Kyoto’s cultural history and academic evolution. With over 200 exhibits, ‘UNIVERSITAS’ explores three key themes: Hall of Knowledge, Life in Kyoto, and Exotic Exploration, offering a fascinating glimpse into a different culture. The Museum of National Taipei University of Education stands as a testament to the enduring power of art, education, and cultural exchange, constantly evolving to inspire and educate its visitors.
