Musashino University High School

From its humble beginnings as Ohashi Kindergarten in 1912, Musashino University High School has blossomed into a respected institution. It’s amazing to think how far it has come. This school wasn’t always known as Musashino University High School. Its roots trace back to the Ohashi Kindergarten in Nihonbashi, Tokyo. Then in 1920, the Ohashi Girls’ School of Home Economics was established. A few years later, in 1922, Musashino Girls’ High School was founded in Nishigahara, Tokyo. The school’s motto, “Rewarding kindness, and giving thanks,” reflects its commitment to character development. Musashino University High School wasn’t content to rest on its laurels. Recognizing the growing importance of higher education, the school expanded. In 1981, Musashino Junior College was created. This paved the way for the establishment of Musashino Gakuin University in 2004. Musashino University High School believes in “Understanding Others.” It encourages students to interact with diverse people. This fosters intellectual growth. The school also emphasizes communication skills, especially in today’s globalized world. The curriculum covers International Communication Studies, International Relations, Japanese Politics, and Japanese Studies. Musashino University High School maintains high admission standards. It seeks students with strong Japanese language proficiency. Applicants also need a fundamental understanding of their own country’s political, social, cultural, and environmental issues. The school hopes its graduates will bridge the gap between Japan and their home countries.
