“Can you feel that?” whispered the old sailor, his eyes fixed on the horizon beyond Moorehouse Point. “The ghosts of shipwrecks past, they linger here.” Moorehouse Point. A name whispered on the wind, a jagged finger of land reaching out into the vast, unpredictable Cook Strait. This unassuming point has witnessed the full fury of nature’s tantrums and the delicate dance of human ambition. It has seen dreams set sail and hopes dashed against the rocks, and yet it stands, a silent sentinel at the edge of the world. This area, you see, is not for the faint of heart. The Cook Strait is notorious, a swirling cauldron where the Pacific and Tasman Sea collide. It was here, against the backdrop of Moorehouse Point, that countless ships, lured by the promise of new lands and riches, met their untimely end.
