The ribbed vaulting is a testament to the builders’ skills. The church also houses one of the oldest musical instruments built by a Slovenian master.
But Monte San Primo is more than just its magnificent church. Nearby stands the smaller older church of Saint Peter. It likely originated in Romanesque style. Its current structure however dates back to the end of the 15th century. Next to it is the old sacristan’s house. This house now serves as a place of refreshment for tourists.
