Born into a Hindu family in Sri Lanka, he found Christ in 1985 in Toronto. He later pursued higher education in London, England, becoming a Chartered Management Accountant. He even worked as an Auditor for Revenue Canada for a decade. However, his true calling led him to full-time ministry in 2004. He earned a Bachelor of Religious Education in 2002 and a Doctor of Divinity in 2014.
