Feel the spray of the ocean. Miller’s Point Tidal Pool is calling. This isn’t just any tidal pool. It’s a hidden gem nestled along the False Bay coastline. A short drive from Simon’s Town. Beyond Boulders Beach and Seaforth it lies.

Miller’s Point itself has a rich history. Established as a whaling station in 1825 by Edmund Miller. His enterprise ended when whaling was banned. For nearly a century the area remained largely untouched. Now it’s part of the Table Mountain National Park. A popular whale watching site. The deep pools nearby attract southern right whales and their calves. Particularly during July to November.

But today we are focusing on the tidal pool itself. A large unspoiled pool with crystal-clear waters. It’s surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. Remote beaches and a protected lagoon complete the scene. The views across the rocky bay and False Bay coastline are magnificent. You’ll find it halfway between two popular diving boat launch sites. A short walk well worth the effort.

Miller’s Point Tidal Pool isn’t just for swimming. There’s a waterslide for kids. Smaller rock pools perfect for paddling. Braai facilities for a picnic. Even changing rooms are provided. The pool itself offers a safe haven from the often rough seas of False Bay. It’s also cleaned naturally by the twice-daily high tide.

However be warned. Crafty baboons sometimes visit Miller’s Point. Don’t feed them. Do not attempt to touch them. This is their natural habitat. Respect it. Remember this pool is a special place. A testament to the natural beauty of Cape Town. A place where history meets the present day. It’s more than just a dip in the ocean. It’s an experience you won’t forget. So take a moment. Enjoy the surroundings. Miller’s Point Tidal Pool is truly unique.
