The story of Gundam AGE is separated into four arcs. The first three focus on different protagonists. The last arc named Three Generations focuses on all three.

In A.G. 101 a mysterious entity attacks the space colony Angel. It is known as UE or Unknown Enemy. This attack is known as The Day the Angel Fell. It marks the beginning of the One Hundred Years War.

The series begins in A.G. 108. The UE attacks the space colony Ovan. Flit Asuno lives there with his mother. Flit’s mother is wounded. Before dying she gives him the AGE Device. It contains blueprints for a powerful weapon called Gundam.

Flit studies engineering at an Earth Federation base. This base is on the Nora space colony. He designs the Gundam AGE-1 from the AGE Device’s blueprints. In A.G. 115 Flit completes the Gundam AGE-1 Normal. The UE attacks Nora. Flit uses the Gundam to help evacuate the colony’s citizens. He joins Diva’s mobile suit squad.

The crew of Diva learns that the UE are descendants of a failed human mission. This mission colonized Mars. The Earth Federation left them for dead. They formed their own nation called Vagan.

Twenty-five years later the war against Vagan escalates. The enemies reject peace offers. Flit is now a commander. He chooses his son Asemu to pilot the Gundam. He entrusts him with the AGE Device. Asemu defends his colony from Vagan attacks. He enlists in the military. He joins Diva’s mobile suit squad. He pilots the Gundam AGE-2.

Flit exposes a large conspiracy. Corrupt authorities are in cahoots with the Vagans. Asemu leaves for a final mission. He disappears but his AGE Device is retrieved.

The Vagans launch a surprise attack on Earth. Flit activates the Gundam AGE-3. He entrusts it to Kio. Kio joins the Diva. Flit and Kio encounter the Bisidian space pirates. They discover Asemu is alive. He pilots the Gundam AGE-2 Dark Hound.

The Diva’s crew learns about EXA-DB. It is an ancient database with strategic data. Kio is captured by the Vagans. Asemu rescues Kio. Kio rejoins the crew of Diva. He pilots the Gundam AGE-FX.

Flit, Asemu and Kio lead the federal forces. They recapture the Federation’s base on the moon. Asemu destroys the EXA-DB. The Federation and the Vagans focus on a final battle. Kio convinces Flit to save the Vagan colony Second Moon. The Federation and the Vagans render Mars habitable. Flit is remembered as a savior.
