The Mega Blitz opened in 1994. It replaced Cortina Bob. Cortina Bob was a Jet Star steel roller coaster since 1969. The Mega Blitz is owned by Neufeld Vergnügungsbetriebe GmbH.

Werner Stengel created this masterpiece. The ride is 550 meters long. It reaches a height of 19 meters. You will experience a maximum acceleration of 4.8 g.

The Mega Blitz trains have three cars. Each car holds two people. You sit one behind the other.

Are you ready for speed? The Mega Blitz reaches 70 km/h. This makes it one of Prater’s fastest roller coasters. The first drop is at a steep 61 degrees. You will be pressed into your seat with almost 5G.

The Mega Blitz features two 540-degree helices. It also boasts a 900-degree helix. There are no inversions on this ride. The whole ride takes about 1 minute and 30 seconds.

A ride on the Mega Blitz costs €4.50. Children aged 6-10 must ride with an adult. Are you at least 10 years old? Then you are good to go to ride alone.

The Prater has a rich history. Emperor Joseph II opened it to the public in 1766. He allowed food stands and restaurants. By the late 19th century, it was a place for lovers’ secret meetings. Orchestra concerts and puppet theaters entertained children.
