Meet Pastor Gene Burdette. He leads Marsh Road Baptist Church with passion. Pastor Burdette came from Orlando. He pastored there for nearly eight years. He holds a Doctorate of Theology. His personal history is inspiring. He was adopted at age five.
Then there’s Jean Shepard. She is the Director of Faith Ministries. Jean also leads women’s Bible studies. She co-leads the Senior’s Ministry. Her husband is Billy D. Shepard. He is the Retired Pastor of Marsh Road Baptist Church. Jean authored “Worthy To Be Loved”. It is a Bible teaching program about Biblical Self-Esteem. She taught this program in the U.S. and Australia.
Billy Shepard’s journey is remarkable. He moved to the Washington, DC area in 1954. He answered God’s call to ministry in 1957. He was ordained in 1960. Billy helped establish two churches. One was Arlington Missionary Baptist Church. It is now known as First BC of Kingstowne.
Dan Dickerson serves as the Sunday School Superintendent. Kellie Dickerson is Head Usher. Ray Scott is also an Usher. BJ Bain serves as Music Director. These individuals play crucial roles. They make Marsh Road Baptist Church a welcoming place.
