Rising proudly on Broadway, the Main Building, also known as UTS Tower, is a landmark you can’t miss. This Brutalist behemoth dominates the University of Technology Sydney’s skyline. The Main Building is more than just a striking structure. It’s a historical anchor, a symbol of UTS, and home to the university’s administrative heart. The Main Building also houses the Great Hall, a venue for graduations and other grand ceremonies. Designed in the 1960s by the then NSW Government Architect, Michael Dysart, the Main Building wasn’t officially opened until 1979. Imagine the anticipation building over those years as the tower steadily rose, becoming the icon we see today. The Main Building’s opening hours are generally from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm, Monday to Friday, providing access for staff and students. Its address, 15 Broadway, Ultimo, places it at the center of the UTS campus.
