Founded in 1968 the Lutheran School for the Deaf stands proudly before us. It’s a testament to the dedication of the Lutheran Church in Hong Kong. The school initially faced challenges. Insufficient classrooms forced a temporary relocation to Concordia Seminary in Yau Yat Tsuen. This wasn’t ideal but it showed resilience.

The school’s journey hasn’t been without its share of obstacles. In 2018 it became the sole provider of primary and secondary education for the deaf in Hong Kong. This monumental task required immense effort. The school rose to the occasion. They continue to be a beacon of hope for deaf students.
In January 2023 the school made headlines. It announced that all students would learn the national anthem. A choral component is planned. This reflects the changing times. It also shows the school’s commitment to national identity.
