“Such ambitious plans!” you might exclaim, gazing at the sheer scale of construction around us. We are standing on the cusp of a new era for Vietnamese aviation, right here at the site of the future Long Thanh International Airport. This isn’t just another airport. Long Thanh is destined to become the largest airport in Vietnam, a behemoth capable of handling over 100 million passengers and five million tonnes of cargo annually. It’s a bold move to alleviate the strain on the current Tan Son Nhat Airport, which is struggling to keep up with the soaring demand. Imagine, by 2035 this entire area will be a bustling hub of international travel. The first phase alone, scheduled for completion in 2026, will see a terminal and a 4,000-meter runway ready to welcome the world. There are four phases planned in total, each more ambitious than the last. This airport is more than just steel and concrete. It’s a testament to Vietnam’s aspirations, a symbol of its growing presence on the global stage.
