In 1883 a group of devout Christians established Zion Chapel Baptist Church. It was located on Johnstown Road in Norfolk County. Reverend Jacob Gaskins was their first pastor. After three years of renting the congregation purchased its current site on December 29 1886. Little Zion Baptist Church’s name changed in the early 1900s. Members felt “Chapel” suggested a small church. The congregation had grown considerably. The name reflected this growth.
