Thirteen years ago a small church opened in New Tampa. LifePoint Community Church started small. It met at a YMCA then a high school. In 2007 it moved into a former Winn-Dixie. Brad and Stephanie White founded this church. They wanted a place for people who didn’t usually go to church. The church grew. It now has two campuses in Pasco County and two in Hillsborough County. It even has a prison ministry. LifePoint has about 3000 members. A South Tampa campus opened in 2011. Pastor Rob Baer led it. Early services were in hotels and a realtors building. The congregation quickly outgrew these spaces. In 2013 LifePoint South Tampa opened a permanent home. It’s a renovated warehouse. Over 250 people attended the grand opening. LifePoint attracts young professionals and couples. It offers something different from traditional churches. It provides a place of hope. LifePoint is involved in the community. Life Groups meet throughout the week at coffee shops and homes. There are also monthly Serve Saturdays. Members work on community projects. LifePoint partners with local non-profits. LifePoint keeps it simple. People worship in casual clothes. The church welcomes everyone. It embraces life’s messiness. LifePoint steps in to help when things are tough. LifePoint’s success is in making it easy to connect. It breaks down barriers to faith. It offers a place where people feel loved and accepted just as they are. Today LifePoint Community Church continues to grow and serve. It provides a welcoming community for people from all walks of life.
