Liebenzeller Gemeinschaft Uhlbach

Nestled in the heart of Stuttgart’s Uhlbach district, the Liebenzeller Gemeinschaft Uhlbach is more than just a building. It’s a testament to faith, community, and a shared journey with God. The Liebenzeller Gemeinschaft Uhlbach is part of the larger Liebenzeller Mission, an organization with a rich history spanning over a century. This local community, along with others around the world, embodies the mission’s motto: “With God from person to person.” The Liebenzeller Mission’s story began in 1899 as the German branch of the China Inland Mission. Pastor Heinrich Coerper led the fledgling organization from Hamburg before finding a permanent home in Bad Liebenzell in 1902. A deaconess named Lina Stahl played a pivotal role in this move. For eleven years, she had prayed for the Schlossberg in Bad Liebenzell to become a center for spreading the Gospel. Her prayers were answered when the mission relocated, transforming the Schlossberg into the “fire-breathing mountain” of faith she envisioned. The Liebenzeller Gemeinschaft Uhlbach reflects this global vision, fostering a local community rooted in the same values of faith and service. The Liebenzeller Mission’s commitment to education is also deeply ingrained in its identity. Hilda von Diest’s generous land donation a century ago stipulated that the mission provide education for missionary trainees. This commitment continues today at the International University of Applied Sciences Liebenzell (IHL) and the Intercultural Theological Academy (ITA), training future generations of missionaries, church leaders, and social workers. Here in Uhlbach, the community gathers for Sunday services, both morning and evening. They delve into scripture, share communion, and offer support and guidance for daily life. Throughout the week, smaller groups meet for Bible study, prayer, and fellowship. The Liebenzeller Gemeinschaft Uhlbach extends its reach beyond its walls, participating in local events like the Dorffest and organizing outings like the recent trip to the Pergamon Museum in Pforzheim. They actively engage with the community, inviting everyone to experience the love and hope found in their shared faith.
