Lost in time, the quaint village of Lichoceves whispers tales of a rich past. Lichoceves first appears in historical records in 1228. Imagine strolling through its peaceful streets, where time seems to slow down. Lichoceves isn’t just a single village, it also includes the charming municipal part of Noutonice. As of 2021, Lichoceves itself housed a mere 98 residents, while Noutonice boasted a slightly larger population of 343. Together, they form a small, tight-knit community. Lichoceves sits nestled in the picturesque Prague-West District within the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. Over the centuries, Lichoceves has seen its population fluctuate. In 1869, 446 people called this village home. The population peaked at 487 in 1890. Then, it gradually declined to a low of 205 in 2001, before rebounding to 441 in 2021. Today, Lichoceves offers a tranquil escape from the bustling city, while still being close enough to enjoy the amenities of Prague. The village has maintained its agricultural character. There is no large-scale industrial production here. Lichoceves, along with its neighboring villages, forms part of a collective of municipalities known as “From Okoř to Vltava.” This partnership reflects the region’s shared history and commitment to preserving its unique heritage.
