The company’s name evolved to Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) as it expanded its reach and expertise. SAIC contributed to crucial projects like the development of the cruise missile and the cleanups of Three Mile Island and Love Canal. Interestingly, SAIC even played a role in the design of the first FAA-approved luggage inspection machine after the Pan Am flight 103 bombing.
