Ever wonder what “Harmony” truly means? At Lee Woo Sing College, it’s more than just a word. It’s the essence of this unique institution. Lee Woo Sing College, nestled within the Chinese University of Hong Kong, was founded in 2007. It opened its doors to students in 2011, embracing a philosophy of kindness, moderation, and environmental harmony. Lee Woo Sing College was made possible by a generous private donation. The college is named after entrepreneur Lee Woo Sing.
Lee Woo Sing College isn’t just about academics. It’s about fostering a well-rounded individual. It aims to provide the “last piece of the jigsaw” in a young person’s education. The college strives to cultivate broader vision, ambitious goals, and the resilience to achieve them. Lee Woo Sing College encourages students to develop communication and leadership skills. The college accommodates 1,200 students, split between residential and non-residential. The location, near Residence Road, offers a tranquil setting in the valley before Chan Chun Ha Hostel. The college boasts a variety of facilities. These include a gym, music rooms, a cookery demonstration room, and various dining options. Within the Catering Centre, you’ll find the WS Pavilion food hall, The Harmony Shanghainese Restaurant, and Café Tolo.
Lee Woo Sing College even has its own anthem, “Ode to Harmony”. The music was composed by renowned musician Jin Peida. It is currently the longest among all the college anthems at CUHK. The anthem reflects the college’s motto: “Wisdom, Humanity, Integrity, Harmony”. This motto permeates every aspect of college life, from academics to extracurricular activities. Lee Woo Sing College represents a blend of tradition and modern education, promoting personal growth and societal contribution.
