Hidden amidst the bustling city of Esslingen am Neckar, the Landolinshof stands as a testament to a bygone era. Let’s journey back to 1846, when this elegant villa was first commissioned. It was built for Justizprokurator Georgii, a partner in the renowned Kessler sparkling wine cellars and father of Theodor Georgii. The Landolinshof, with its classicist design, became a symbol of success and sophistication. Years passed, and the Landolinshof eventually came into the possession of Fritz Müller. In 1905, he decided to enhance its grandeur, enlisting the talents of architect Albert Benz. Benz added a two-story, neoclassical extension towards Landolinsteige, complementing the original structure along Landolinsplatz. Despite the architectural contrast, Benz ensured a harmonious blend. The belt cornice beneath the upper floor windows was seamlessly continued along the new addition. Ornate plaster fields, palmette friezes, pilaster structures, and vaulted window panes further elevated the facade. Stepping inside the Landolinshof today, we’re transported to a world of preserved elegance. Look up and admire the coffered ceilings, rich paneling, and delicate stucco elements. Notice the vibrant hues of the original stained-glass windows, casting a warm glow throughout the rooms. Outside, the original wrought-iron garden fence still encloses the villa’s grounds. The Landolinshof, having witnessed over a century of history, continues to captivate with its enduring charm.
