Think back to April 30 1950. The first sod was turned for the new auditorium of Lakeview Community Chruch. Soon after on February 11 1951 the Church Hall was completed. The official opening of Lakeview United Church met a deeply felt need in the district.

During that first year the Women’s Federation was formed. Sunday School classes expanded quickly. Youth groups flourished. Between 300 and 500 boys and girls attended organized recreational and spiritual activities in mid-week. Lakeview Community Chruch became a hub of activity and growth.
