So, in 2023, Arlington County initiated a $2 million renovation project. The project aims to replace the existing facilities with modern, accessible structures. Two design concepts were proposed, and the community was invited to share their preferences. One concept places the restrooms and picnic shelter adjacent to the court. The other positions the restrooms facing the court, with the picnic shelter behind. Beyond the new construction, the project will enhance site furnishings, improve circulation, and upgrade landscaping and drainage. While the playground in the southern part of Lacey Woods Park was renovated in 2014, this new project focuses solely on the northern section. It’s a testament to Arlington County’s commitment to maintaining its parks and providing valuable recreational spaces for residents and visitors alike.
