A supervised swimming area provides safe refreshment from July 1st to August 31st, with lifeguards on duty from 10 am to 7 pm. This watchful presence extends to Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays in May, June, and late August, from 1 pm to 7 pm. Rest assured, the water quality is regularly monitored. Beyond swimming, Lac Achard offers a variety of activities, especially for younger visitors during holidays. Football and volleyball pitches, pétanque courts, and playgrounds provide ample opportunities for fun and games. Showers, restrooms, and a first aid station ensure a comfortable visit. Lac Achard also holds a hidden world beneath its surface. Carp, pike, catfish, silures, crayfish, and other aquatic species thrive in its depths, contributing to its rich ecosystem. Accessibility is a priority at Lac Achard. It proudly holds the “Handiplage” label, a national recognition awarded to only 70 beaches in France, ensuring everyone can enjoy its offerings. Be aware of the crowds, especially in summer. Shade can be scarce near the beach, so a parasol is recommended. The nearby highway might also introduce some background noise. Outside the summer season, there is no surveillance or service, and the restrooms are closed, so plan accordingly. If the weather turns unfavorable, the nearby Piscine de la Hart offers an alternative indoor option. Lac Achard is more than just a lake.
