Created by Remigio Barbaro, La Tua Pace embodies the island’s connection to the sea. The statue depicts a grieving woman. Her husband was lost at sea. The inscription on the statue reads “donaci Gesu la tua pace”. This translates to “Jesus give us your peace.” The La Tua Pace statue stands as a testament to the hardships faced by the Burano community. It also represents the deep faith that sustains them. The statue’s placement near the vaporetto stop underscores its significance to the island. It serves as a reminder of the precarious lives of those who depend on the sea.
