Remember that thrilling climb on the rope structures at Krouzky na Vltave? It’s a playground unlike any other.
Krouzky na Vltave isn’t your average playground. It’s built on the site of the former Prague Branik district waterworks. This historical building has been completely renovated. Now it houses restaurants and a fantastic playground. The name itself is clever. “Krouzky” means both “circles” (referring to its location on the Vltava River) and “clubs” or “activities”. And activities it has!
Imagine this: you’re watching your children play. They are having the time of their lives. The playground has something for every age. Toddlers have their own smaller play areas. Older kids can tackle the challenging rope climbing frames. These structures were a source of worry for many parents. They are very tall. The ropes don’t fully protect against falls. Many children underestimated the height. Some needed help getting to the top. The slides are incredibly fast. I’m an adventurous person. I still found the slide too extreme! Always supervise children carefully on this equipment.
The complex also boasts indoor and outdoor playgrounds. There is even a restaurant with a terrace overlooking the playground. Parents can relax while keeping an eye on their children. The indoor area is particularly impressive. It includes hammocks next to tables for babies. There are even toy ponies for the little ones to ride. This creates a very convenient and comfortable environment.
Prices are reasonable but not the cheapest. A family meal can easily cost 800 CZK. The playground used to be free. Now there’s a small entrance fee. I think 30 CZK is more than acceptable. The playground was partly funded by the EU. The fee might be necessary for maintenance and to cover operational costs. The restaurant and clubs operate separately. It’s a busy place. It’s popular for birthday parties too.
