Amidst the tranquil setting of Krellovy Sady, a story unfolds. The story of Krellova studánka. A beautiful, ancient spring. In 1906, a teacher named Krell decided to breathe new life into the forgotten spring. The inscription “L.P. 1906 Krellova studánka” marks this event. Krellova studánka stands as a testament to his dedication. The spring’s waters flow freely, a vital resource cherished by local residents. They diligently monitor and maintain Krellova studánka. Ensuring its preservation for generations to come. In May 2016, a local resident, A.Vízek, along with his family, stepped in to prevent further decay. They undertook significant repairs. Later, in November 2017, the Magistrate of Prague further enhanced Krellova studánka and its surrounding area. They improved the water outflow. The white brick structure of Krellova studánka, rectangular in shape and sheltered by a roof, exudes a timeless charm. Above the arched entrance, a triangular pediment proudly displays the inscription. A metal pipe, approximately five meters below the spring’s wall, carries the strong current of the spring. The surrounding area was cleared and paved with stone slabs. The spring’s water, slightly to moderately mineralized, possesses a neutral to slightly alkaline reaction. It is classified as a CaHCO3 type, characterized by the presence of calcium, hydrogen carbonate, and naturally occurring aggressive CO2. Although the water shows signs of slight anthropogenic influence, it generally meets drinking water standards. Nitrate levels remain low. The chloride content, however, has been observed to increase over time. Krell’s legacy lives on in the gentle murmur of the spring, a timeless reminder of the power of community and the enduring connection between humans and nature.
