Komiya Station is located in Hachioji City Tokyo. It is operated by East Japan Railway Company or JR East. This station serves passengers traveling between Hachioji and Komagawa on the Hachiko Line. Many trains continue to Kawagoe on the Kawagoe Line too.
The station is 5.1 kilometers from Hachioji Station. That is the official starting point of the Hachiko Line.
Komiya Station has a simple layout. There are two ground-level side platforms. These platforms serve two tracks. A footbridge connects them. The station is staffed.
Platform 1 is for trains to Hachioji. Platform 2 serves trains to Haijima Komagawa and Kawagoe.
Komiya Station first opened on December 10 1931. The Japanese National Railways or JNR ran it. On April 1 1987 JNR became JR East. That is when Komiya Station came under JR East’s control.
The Hachiko Line’s southern section was electrified. This section runs between Hachioji and Komagawa. The electrification happened on March 16 1996. Through services then started between Hachioji and Kawagoe.
In fiscal year 2019 Komiya Station saw an average of 3055 passengers daily. These were only boarding passengers.
