Bohumil Hrabal’s school stands tall here. Welcome to Kašparovo náměstí. It is a small triangular public space in Prague’s Libeň district. This square offers a park-like setting for locals and visitors alike.

Kašparovo náměstí lies southeast of Bulovka University Hospital in Old Libeň. It sits near the northern edge of the Pod Korábem park. The square provides a peaceful contrast to the hospital’s activity.

The most prominent building on Kašparovo náměstí is the large Bohumil Hrabal Elementary School. A modern administrative building adds architectural variety nearby. The Libeň Cemetery is not far. It lies west along Na Korábě and Krejčího streets.

In Krejčího street, there is a sports and recreation area. It is famous for its beach volleyball courts.

Korábské schody, or Korábské Stairs, start at the southern edge of the square. These stairs run along the western edge of Pod Korábem park. They also border the eastern edge of the Košířka garden colony. The stairs descend toward Rokytka and Nová Libeň. A subway under the railway line connects to Povltavská street. This is known as the Holešovice relocation.

Pod Korábem park features a school nature trail. This educational path enhances the area.

Before 1961, Kašparovo náměstí was known as Chlumčanské náměstí. The name matched the adjacent street. It was renamed to honor Adolf Kašpar. He was a Czech painter and illustrator. The renaming celebrated his contributions to Czech art.

Kašparovo náměstí provides green space and important buildings. It serves as a community hub in Libeň. The square links local history, education, recreation, and nature. Take a moment to appreciate this area. Its features are both functional and historically significant.
