From a non-profit project in an apartment to a world-renowned gallery. That’s the incredible story of Karma International. Right here on Weststrasse, Karma International isn’t just a contemporary art gallery. It’s a testament to the vision of Karolina Dankow and Marina Olsen. They launched this venture in 2008, right here in Zurich. Karma International quickly outgrew its humble beginnings. It transitioned from Dankow’s apartment to its current location on Weststrasse 75. This gallery is more than just a display space. It’s a launchpad for emerging artists and a platform for established names. Karma International champions a diverse roster of talent. From artists of their own generation to the estates of Meret Oppenheim and Xanti Schawinsky, the gallery showcases a vibrant mix of contemporary art. The gallery has played host to some truly memorable exhibitions. In the summer of 2024, Karma International showcased the sculptures of Hans Josephsohn. The following year, the provocative works of Sylvie Fleury took center stage in “Frankie Goes To Hollywood.” In 2019, Judith Bernstein’s bold and unapologetic exhibition, “Blue Balls,” made waves within the art world. Karma International continues to be a dynamic force in the Zurich art scene. It’s a space where art lovers can discover new talents and engage with established artists. Come experience the energy for yourself. Karma International welcomes visitors Wednesday through Friday from noon to 6 pm, and Saturdays from noon to 4 pm.
