Built in 2013 the Kapelle Zur Heiligen Familie stands before us. This small chapel is a testament to faith and family. It was a gift from the Roth family. They built it to thank God for a full and happy life. Josefine and Roman Roth initiated the project. They worked hard their entire lives raising three children. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 2010. Sadly both fell seriously ill. Their recovery and the years they shared afterward inspired the chapel. Josefine sadly passed away in April 2013. She only saw the chapel’s initial construction.
The chapel’s interior is simple yet beautiful. Two wooden figures dominate the space. These are Maria with Jesus and Saint Joseph. A skilled Romanian sculptor Joan Ilita carved them. He worked in the Roth family’s courtyard. Tragically he passed away shortly after completing Saint Joseph. The chapel also includes two antique wooden benches. These came from the Burkarder Church in Würzburg. Wolfgang Roth acquired them during the church’s renovation. He is a farmer and city council member. A beautiful wrought-iron gate closes the space. Kunstschlosser Adolf Röding crafted it.
The Kapelle Zur Heiligen Familie is open to all. It’s a place for quiet reflection. A May devotion takes place yearly in front of the chapel. Afterwards people enjoy food and drinks. The Roth family’s generosity created this special place. It is a lasting symbol of faith family and gratitude. It’s a place where people can connect with their spirituality. They can pause amidst the hustle of life. The chapel offers a moment of peace and contemplation. It truly is a remarkable testament to the power of faith.
