“Ready to explore a unique blend of history and modern living?” That’s what I ask everyone before we delve into the story of Jubilee Garden. Jubilee Garden is located at 2-18 Lok King Street in Fo Tan. This private housing estate in Hong Kong’s New Territories offers a fascinating glimpse into the region’s development.

Jubilee Garden stands near the MTR Fo Tan station. It is also right next to the Sha Tin Racecourse. This location offers easy access to transportation. It is also close to leisure activities.

Cheung Kong Holdings and Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation built Jubilee Garden in the 1980s. It was the first large-scale property development in Lok King Street, Fo Tan. Jubilee Garden also marked the first large-scale residential development by the KCRC. The buildings stand above a podium. This podium covers the stabling tracks of the Ho Tung Lau maintenance centre of the KCRC.

Imagine this area back then. It was an innovative project that combined residential living. It also integrated transportation infrastructure. Jubilee Garden was completed in two stages. Blocks 4 to 8 were finished in 1985. Blocks 1 to 3 followed in 1986. This phased construction allowed residents to gradually move in. It also helped to shape the community.

Today Jubilee Garden consists of nine buildings. These buildings house 2,260 residential units. The units range from one to three bedrooms. They offer salesable areas from 339 to 848 square feet. The variety of floor plans caters to different family sizes. It also accommodates various lifestyle needs.

Residents of Jubilee Garden enjoy access to several facilities. There is a garden podium for relaxation. An outdoor swimming pool offers a refreshing escape. Tennis courts, a basketball court, and table tennis rooms provide options for sports.

The Ho Tung Lau maintenance centre was upgraded in phases between 1989 and 1995. Later, the Royal Ascot was built above it. Sun Hung Kai Properties and KCRC jointly developed it. It was fully occupied by April 1997.

Jubilee Garden is not just a residential area. It represents a significant chapter in Hong Kong’s urban development. It showcases how innovative planning can transform a space. It integrates living, transportation, and recreation. As we stand here, let’s appreciate the vision that created Jubilee Garden. Its legacy continues to shape the community of Fo Tan.
