Built in 1908, the Johnston-McIntosh House has seen a lot of history. The house first appears in directories that year. William L. Dickinson, a carpenter, was the first resident. In 1910 another carpenter, James Johnston, moved in. James lived in the Johnston-McIntosh House until his death sometime between 1926 and 1927. His wife Annie inherited the house and lived there until 1932 or 1933. She returned to the Johnston-McIntosh House in 1938 and remained until 1940. Don and Isabel McIntosh became the new owners in 1941. The house was named after both the Johnston and McIntosh families who called it home. The house still stands today, a testament to the enduring legacy of these Vancouver families.
