In 1955, they established the Wanji ceramics factory in Lei Yue Mun. Master Cao even crafted ceramics for the Haw Par Mansion. This factory produced quality export products. Tang tri-color glazed ceramics were among them. So were Song Junyao and Ming Porcelain.
Local children once earned pocket money here. They molded clay at the factory. The factory closed in 1983. The masters retired. However, their legacy lives on at the Jockey Club Lei Yue Mun Plus. It provides a space dedicated to ceramics.
