From a dream to reality. That’s the story of the Jockey Club HKFA Football Training Centre. Here we stand, before a testament to the dedication and passion for football in Hong Kong. The Jockey Club HKFA Football Training Centre wasn’t built overnight. Its journey began way back in 2002 with a dream of a National Football Training Centre. That initial dream stalled. Yet, the spirit of football persevered. The vision was reignited in 2012 under the leadership of Mark Sutcliffe and Project Phoenix. The Hong Kong Jockey Club stepped up to the plate, providing a substantial donation of HK$133 million. The Jockey Club HKFA Football Training Centre finally broke ground in 2016. This 12-hectare site in Tseung Kwan O boasts state-of-the-art facilities. It includes three natural grass pitches. There are also three artificial turf pitches and a futsal pitch. The center isn’t just for elite athletes. It also serves as a development hub for coaches and referees. Even the public can book the artificial turf pitches. The Jockey Club HKFA Football Training Centre is more than just a training ground. It symbolizes Hong Kong’s commitment to nurturing football talent at all levels.
