Beyond the gate lies the Daiden the Great Hall. Rebuilt in 1974 after wartime destruction it’s a testament to faith. A treasure gallery resides beneath it. It showcases Buddhist art. You can find paintings by Kano Kazunobu. There’s also a model of the lost Taitoku-in Mausoleum. It is an opportunity to remember the past.

Jiho-ji also houses a poignant garden. It is known as the Sentai Kosodate Jizo. Rows of stone jizo statues represent unborn children. Parents decorate them. They offer small gifts and toys. This is a beautiful gesture of remembrance. A silent prayer for peace.
