Imagine you’re standing right in front of the Jesu Kristi Kyrka av Sista Dagars Heliga in Stockholm. This church is a place of peace and tranquility. It was built in 1985 by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, more commonly known as the Mormon Church. The building is a modern adaptation of a six-spire design, which stands out in a striking way. It’s situated in Vasterhaninge, about fifteen miles south of Stockholm. Before the Stockholm temple was built, the Mormon community in Sweden traveled to temples in Bern, Switzerland, and London, England, just to participate in their faith. The Stockholm Sweden Temple stands on a 4.5-acre lot and was constructed using white masonry walls and a copper roof. It has a baptistry, four instruction rooms, three sealing rooms for marriages, and a celestial room. The celestial room is considered to be a representation of heaven on earth. The area surrounding the temple is known for its historical significance due to its proximity to ancient Iron Age burial grounds. In fact, the land upon which the temple was built is a part of the old Aaby Grave Field, a place that holds the history of the region in its soil.
