Founded in 1982 as Liverpool Christian Life Centre Inspire Church stands before us a testament to faith and community. Originally led by Pastors John and Carol McMartin the church experienced remarkable growth. By 2007 attendance soared to 4500 people. This impressive figure made it a significant Pentecostal church in Australia. In 2008 the name changed to Inspire Church reflecting a new era of spiritual growth.

Inspire Church’s growth continued. By 2012 attendance reached 5000 making it one of the largest Australian Christian Churches in Australia. This success is a testament to the dedication of its leadership and congregation. The main building features an auditorium seating about 1000 people. It also includes a chapel cafeteria and gymnasium providing a comprehensive space for worship and community engagement.

However the church’s history isn’t without its challenges. In late 2020 John McMartin stepped down from his role. He faced charges of sexual assault. His son Brendan McMartin and his wife Melissa now lead Inspire Church. They were appointed senior pastors by the church’s board. Brendan McMartin also heads the Wagga Wagga campus.

Inspire Church’s impact extends beyond its services. Inspire College provides training for church leaders. This initiative originally known as Sydney Training Institute equips individuals for service. The college offers nationally accredited courses. It is located about 40 minutes from Sydney’s central business district. Inspire Church is a vibrant hub of faith community and education. It continues to make its mark in the Greater Western Sydney area. Its journey is a mix of triumph and challenge. It shows the complexities of religious institutions in modern Australia. The legacy of Inspire Church continues to evolve. It reflects both the strength of its faith and the challenges of facing difficult truths.
