Rooted in faith, Igreja Internacional da Graça de Deus emerged in 1980. Romildo Ribeiro Soares founded it. He is widely known as Missionary R. R. Soares. The church started in Rio de Janeiro.
Do you know about R. R. Soares’ early influences? In 1968, Soares read a book. It was called “Curai Enfermos e Expulsai Demônios” meaning Heal the Sick and Cast Out Demons. This book ignited his passion for ministry.
Initially, Soares worked with Edir Macedo. Macedo later became his brother-in-law. Together they established the Igreja Universal do Reino de Deus in 1977. Theological differences led Soares to start his own path.
Three days later, Igreja Internacional da Graça de Deus held its first service. This took place on June 9, 1980. The location was Rua Alfredo Dolabela Portela. It served as a temporary base. Later, the church moved to Duque de Caxias. This expansion reflected the church’s growing influence.
Did you know the Igreja Internacional da Graça de Deus has a strong media presence? The church uses television and radio extensively. R. R. Soares once had the most airtime on Brazilian TV. His program reached countless homes each week. Since 1997, the church has aired programs during prime time. “Show da Fé” has been on the air since 2003.
The church owns the Fundação Internacional de Comunicação. This foundation manages radio and TV stations. These include TV Guanandi and SBT MS. They are affiliated with Band and SBT.
Igreja Internacional da Graça de Deus also operates RIT. RIT is a television network. It offers content for the Neopentecostal audience. In 2007, Nossa TV was launched. It provides subscription TV with Neopentecostal content.
Since 2002, Igreja Internacional da Graça de Deus has broadcasted on its own radio station. It is called Nossa Rádio. This radio station has numerous retransmitters across Brazil. In September 2011, Nossa Rádio began broadcasting in Florida.
To further spread its message, R. R. Soares established Graça Filmes in 2010. Initially, it distributed films. Later, it produced its own movies. In 2012, it released “Três Histórias, Um Destino”.
Beyond media, the Igreja Internacional da Graça de Deus includes Graça Music. This is a record label founded in 1999. There is also Graça Editorial. This publishing house produces the “Jornal Show da Fé”. It also publishes the “Revista Graça/Show da Fé”.
Education is key. The church runs two educational institutions. These are Academia Teológica da Graça de Deus and Faculdade do Povo. The academy focuses on theology. The college specializes in social communication.
The doctrines of Igreja Internacional da Graça de Deus are based on faith in Christ. These include belief in the Trinity. They also include salvation through faith. The church emphasizes the Bible as the ultimate authority.
One unique doctrine is determination. This is based on John 14:13. According to the church, determining means claiming God’s promises. This involves commanding the devil to stop his actions.
