What if I told you that this entire estate was built to accommodate over 12000 people? This is Hung Fuk Estate. Completed in 2015, Hung Fuk Estate is the first public estate in Hung Shui Kiu. The Hong Kong Government planned a large-scale development here. They envisioned a new town rising from this very spot.

Hung Fuk Estate sits in Hung Shui Kiu Area 13. The estate spans approximately 6.4 hectares. This is quite large. The Hong Kong Housing Authority manages it.

Notice the buildings around us. Hung Fuk Estate has nine residential blocks. They provide 4905 flats. The buildings aren’t very tall for Hong Kong. They only have 16 to 24 storeys.

Let’s talk about the construction. The Hsin Chong construction company built the first and second phases. This included four blocks, a commercial centre and a car park. Yau Lee Group built the third phase. This phase included five blocks, a kindergarten, an elderly centre and a youth centre. The third phase cost HK 1232.47 million.

Take a look around at the amenities. Hung Fuk Estate includes a bus terminus. It has a shopping centre and a market. There are community facilities too. These include a kindergarten, an elderly centre and a youth centre.

Consider the demographics here. In 2016, the population of Hung Fuk Estate was 9255. Most residents were of Chinese ethnicity. Cantonese was the main language. The average household size was 2.4 people.

Think about the shopping centre. Hung Fuk Shopping Centre opened in mid-2015. It has 3500 square metres of lettable area. You can find 14 shops of various trades here. Food premises, a bakery, a supermarket and a bank are all available.

Hung Fuk Estate is near the Hung Shui Kiu Light Rail Station. There is a Public Transport Interchange here. Electric vehicle charging facilities are installed here too. These are for the convenience of residents and shoppers.
