The village was first named Nová Ves. It was also called Hoření Bezděkov. It got its name from the nearby village of Bezděkov. That village then became known as Dolní Bezděkov.
New settlers came to Horní Bezděkov. They came from various parts of the Křivoklát estate. The first contracts in Horní Bezděkov’s land book were written on December 18 1711. Three farmsteads and three cottages were settled. Matěj Čermák Václav Čermák and Jiřík Hendrych were among the farmers. Jiřík Koubek Jan Sedlák and Daniel Juppa were cottagers.
A few years later Jiří Stehlík and Tomáš Šíma built their cottages. They were built “above the Kyšice mill”. This was the beginning of today’s Malé Kyšice in 1720. In 1721 Josef Čermák added another cottage.
