Holy Trinity began as a mission in 1953. At first, the congregation met in the American Legion Hall. Later, they moved to the Palma Ceia Theater. They also used Roosevelt School as a meeting place. In 1955, they broke ground on this very spot.
Christian education has always been a priority. In 1958, Holy Trinity Lutheran School opened its doors. Today, both the church and school thrive. They share the good news of Jesus Christ with South Tampa.
Holy Trinity is part of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. This church follows a simple guide to its beliefs. Grace alone. Faith alone. Scripture alone.
Grace alone means God loves everyone even sinners. He sent Jesus to save the ungodly. Faith alone means Jesus bought forgiveness through His death. Those who believe have eternal life. God creates faith and gives forgiveness through Jesus. Scripture alone means the Bible is God’s Word. It is the rule for Christian belief.
But how does Holy Trinity nurture its youngest members? The church has a special time for children called “Kids Church” during the 9:00 a.m. Contemporary Service. A youth message is also delivered during the Traditional Service. Vacation Bible School excites children in the summer. Youth Night happens every Thursday. It is tailored for children in first through seventh grade.
Holy Trinity also offers many programs. These include adult Bible study and small groups. Small groups meet weekly. They have different focuses. Holy Trinity believes in community. They believe relationships in small groups bless your faith. Small groups help you understand the Bible.
Are you wondering about the building itself? Holy Trinity completed a face lift. They added offices, classrooms, and a new air-conditioning system.
