Ebba Bergstrand is a ski instructor at Hjortberget. She manages the ski school. During the premiere weekend for the new lift, over 60 children participated in the ski school. Ebba usually has only 5-7 children in each group. The new lift is a boost for Oskarshamn and Hjortberget. Ebba loves seeing children develop their skills as ski instructor at Hjortberget. She enjoys seeing them share the joy of skiing together.
Hjortberget’s ski club offers ski school. They sell lift passes and organize ski trips. You can even rent ski equipment here. This is useful even if you plan to ski elsewhere.

Sadly, Hjortberget has faced problems. For years, it has been a target of theft and vandalism. Erik Bergstrand is in charge of machinery and snowmaking at Hjortberget. He believes the central location in Oskarshamn is to blame for the destruction. Staff decided to install surveillance cameras. This will hopefully deter future incidents. Volunteers put a lot of effort into maintaining Hjortberget. Dealing with constant repairs is draining.
One time a stolen cable affected snow production. Fortunately, the theft happened during warm weather. So, they could not make snow anyway. Someone donated a new cable the next day. Snow production resumed as planned.
