Built between 1894 and 1895 Hip Tin Kung replaced an earlier structure dedicated to Kwan Tai. Kwan Tai the god of war was given the honorific title Hip Tin during the Ming Dynasty. Many temples dedicated to Kwan Tai bear this name.

Five stone plaques adorn Hip Tin Kung. They detail its reconstruction. These plaques are more than just historical records. The college resumed classes there continuing its vital work.
