Established in 1961 Hills Adventist College started humbly. A single teacher ran classes in the Castle Hill Seventh-day Adventist Church hall. This small beginning blossomed. A two-classroom school was built on two acres behind the church. For years the Castle Hill church alone supported the school. Then in 1968 four nearby churches joined forces. They became known as the Hills District and ran the Adventist school together.
Hills Adventist College continued to grow. Thanks to the Greater Sydney Conference’s “Support our Schools” program the school expanded. A new classroom offices toilets and an assembly room were added. The playground also received upgrades. The school’s growth continued. In 1978 another building phase was completed.
A major building project followed. This provided the school with a new library computer room reception area offices and staff room. These were first used in 1997. A new Early Learning Centre opened. The college committed to developing a Middle and Senior School. By 2010 the Castle Hill site could not support further growth. So the Middle and Senior Schools Years 5-12 relocated to a new campus in Kellyville.
On October 25 2012 NSW Senator Doug Cameron officially opened the Multi-Purpose Centre. This was the first permanent building on the Kellyville campus. Today Hills Adventist College boasts two outstanding campuses in Sydney’s Hills District. The Castle Hill campus houses an Early Learning Centre and Primary School Kindergarten to Year 4. The Kellyville campus offers education from Kindergarten to Year 12.
Hills Adventist College remains a cornerstone of the Hills District community. It offers a nurturing environment. The college focuses on learning personal development and opportunities for service. It’s a testament to the vision of those who started a small school in a church hall. It’s a legacy of faith growth and community. Today Hills Adventist College stands as a significant educational institution. It stands as a beacon of Seventh-day Adventist education in the Sydney area.
