How about stepping into a realm of luxury and artistry? Right here in Shenzhen stands the magnificent Hermès House. It is not just a store. It’s an experience, a journey through the heart of French craftsmanship blended seamlessly with Chinese inspiration.

Hermès unveiled its newly renovated store in Shenzhen’s MixC shopping mall on October 23, 2024. This reopening marked a significant moment for the brand. The store is located in the heart of the dynamic city’s Luohu Central Business District. It is one of Hermès’ 34 locations in China.

The façade itself is a work of art. Jade-colored enamel and ceramic pillars evoke the image of lofty bamboo. This creates a sense of movement through the interplay of light and shade. Large street-level windows invite you to step inside and explore.

Once inside Hermès House, you will find yourself immersed in a luminous and nature-inspired space. The store is set over one voluminous floor. Natural light plays off curved spaces and high ceilings. A soothing palette of neutral tones creates a serene environment.

The Faubourg motif greets visitors at both entrances. It is set in amber, green and mother-of-pearl terrazzo. Abstract rugs soften the ambiance. The women’s silk universe and fashion jewellery beckon. To the right, enameled floral tiles adorn the walls of the beauty and perfumes area. The home and equestrian areas lead to the women’s and men’s universes. Finally leather goods await your discovery.

Jewellery and watches find their place in a contemporary space. Botanically inspired carpets add a touch of nature. Each universe is defined by subtleties of craftsmanship and lighting. This offers an engaging journey through diverse atmospheres. Elements ranging from bamboo weaving to porcelain craft celebrate the region’s local know-how and heritage.

Parisian architecture agency RDAI designed the store. Its expansive design draws inspiration from Shenzhen’s innovative spirit. Organic shapes merge with refined textures. Subtle details and natural colors create a sense of synergy and harmony.

The décor is enhanced by artworks from the Émile Hermès collection. Charming forests painted by Jean-Luc Favero hang alongside eccentric watercolours by Alain Biet. Compelling images from the Hermès Collection of Contemporary Photographs include Coumenoole, Ireland, 1978. It is a cinematic black and white landscape with horses by Finnish photographer Pentti Sammallahti.

Hermès invites loyal customers and new visitors to explore the diversity of its métiers in Shenzhen. The serene space with natural accents highlights the creativity of the house’s collections. Since 1837, Hermès has remained faithful to its artisan model and humanist values. The freedom to create and the spirit of innovation are key. The constant search for beautiful materials is important. The transmission of savoir-faire of excellence and the aesthetic of functionality all forge the singularity of Hermès. It is a house of objects created to last.

So, as you stand here at Hermès House, take a moment to appreciate the artistry and innovation. It represents a blend of cultures and a commitment to excellence that has defined Hermès for nearly two centuries.
