Amidst the vibrant energy of Ho Chi Minh City, stands the Heart Institute of Ho Chi Minh City, a beacon of hope and healing. The Heart Institute of Ho Chi Minh City’s story began in 1992, born from a collaboration between Vietnam and France’s Alain Carpentier Association. Before this, many Vietnamese faced limited access to advanced cardiac care. Professor Duong Quang Trung, recognizing this critical need, sought help from French Professor Alain Carpentier, a renowned heart surgeon. This partnership led to the institute’s creation, marking a turning point in Vietnam’s medical landscape. The first surgery at the Heart Institute of Ho Chi Minh City in 1992 was a success. Since then, the institute has transformed the lives of over 25,000 patients with complex heart conditions. It performs most complicated heart surgeries, rivaling those in developed nations. The Heart Institute of Ho Chi Minh City doesn’t just treat; it empowers. It has trained 96 surgeons and almost 500 medical staff. These individuals carry out charitable health checks, extending the institute’s reach far beyond its walls. Remarkably, the Heart Institute of Ho Chi Minh City has provided free surgeries and treatment to over 6,700 impoverished patients, amounting to a staggering $10.2 million. To further expand access to care, the institute has partnered with provincial hospitals, sharing its expertise and techniques. This has significantly reduced the waiting list, bringing timely care to those in need. The Heart Institute of Ho Chi Minh City is more than just a hospital; it is a testament to international collaboration, unwavering dedication, and a profound commitment to healing hearts, regardless of circumstance.
