In 1988, a seed of hope was planted in the fertile ground of human need. Right here, at Healing Heart Ministries, a powerful story of redemption and restoration began. Healing Heart Ministries was founded by Sue and Gary Liljenberg. Sue’s personal journey through the pain of abortion led her to a profound understanding of brokenness and the desperate need for healing. After finding solace and strength in her faith, Sue felt a calling to share this transformative power with others. Healing Heart Ministries became her answer to that call. It started as a small, intimate gathering around a kitchen table. It blossomed into a beacon of hope for thousands across the Puget Sound region and beyond. Healing Heart Ministries offers a unique approach to healing. It acknowledges the deep wounds of the past, particularly those stemming from abortion. It provides biblically based counseling and discipleship. The core of Healing Heart Ministries lies in two impactful Bible studies: “Binding up the Brokenhearted” for women and “Restoring a Father’s Heart” for men. These studies have helped countless individuals confront their pain, find forgiveness, and experience lasting emotional and spiritual restoration. Healing Heart Ministries recognizes that pain doesn’t discriminate. It affects people from all walks of life. The organization has expanded its reach to address a wide range of issues including addiction, abuse, and marital struggles. The success stories are a testament to the power of faith and the dedication of the volunteers. Many who have found healing through Healing Heart Ministries now serve others, continuing the ripple effect of hope and restoration.
