Genzo Ichikawa, a Principal of Dai-ichi High School for Girls, became Principal of Ohyu Gakuen. Shizu Ishikawa dedicated her life to Ohyu Gakuen. She was Chairman and Principal for over thirty years.

Ichikawa taught students to “be humans before being women.” He urged them to become women who maximize their potential. Ishikawa nurtured girls to succeed in a global society. She believed in all-round education combined with a Christian spirit.

Hakuo’s badge features a “snow-flake-shape and pine tree” motif. It symbolizes resilience and cheerfulness. The design means to live strong and be cheerful.
